Description
SUMMARY STATEMENT: Function: The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination of the daily operations of PEP-C. The application of leadership management and the maintenance of professional standards, works under the direction of the Unit Director. Coordinates with the UD in development budget and unit goals. Identify areas of improvement and implement action plan utilizing stoplight status report template. Supervise and guides staff in providing quality patient care to ensure patient safety and patient satisfaction. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and participate peer evaluations of the staff. Not limited to the input of staff timecards, oversight of the daily scheduling , participate in the daily huddles and staff meetings, support the AN Is’ to ensure the Standards of ASPAN and provide guidance and leadership to the AN1, participate interviews of applicants, prepares staff for Joint Commission readiness and leads the way for maintaining Magnet status. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities. Clinical duties will required to perform in supervisory role and intermittently acts as the Charge Nurse when needed, as well as be visible and resource to staff.

Qualifications
* BSN or MSN required * Three years of recent acute care experience required * BLS · Leading Abilities: o Behaviors, actions, and language reflect conscious commitment to supporting unit, department, and hospital vision o Projects a calm, reassuring and confident manner and promotes a cohesive team environment · Standards and Accountability Abilities: o Consistently achieves high standards in clinical duties and holds self to same standards as others are held to · Makes decisions in the best interest of the patient · Communication Abilities: o Effectively listens and communicates to peers both positive and constructive feedback o Able to admit fault and acknowledge others’ position without becoming defensive · Planning and Decision Making Abilities: o Consistently uses good judgment in making decisions o Consistently identifies opportunities to improve unit performance and takes action to implement ideas · Relationship Building Abilities o Develops rapport with patients and patients families o Able to recognize (or bring attention to) peers’ accomplishments · Developing People Abilities o Maintains positive attitude towards unit and work, helping to build unit’s positive reputation o Consistently models right behaviors o Skills in coaching and assisting staff in: – developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress – implementing interventions that are pertinent to goals established in the plan of care – evaluating the effective of interventions toward the attainment of established goals and – recognizing the need to reassess or reset goal parameter
