Position Summary: 

The clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients.  Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.  Will evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise plan or make referrals as necessary.  Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit.  The identification of essential functions below is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned to this position, nor does it restrict the duties which may be assigned if such duties reasonably relate to the position.
The Nuclear Medicine Nurse will support therapies by doing all pre-treatment evaluation include labs, consultations, prep and answering all patient questions. Performs stress tests for Nuclear Medicine and PET patients. Administers medications and prep for all other nuclear medicine studies. Coordinates research studies for the department with the supervisor. Works within state regulatory radiation safety practices and utilizes the principles of ALARA.

Salary Range: 

Hourly Rate  Minimum     $59.93                   Midpoint          $71.10                   Maximum $82.27

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills

ACLS certification upon hire

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Cardiology experience for stress test

1-2 years of outpatient ambulatory nursing experience

PALS certification upon hire

Licenses and Certifications:

Advanced Cardiac Life Support(Required)

Basic Life Support(Required)

Pediatric Advanced Life Supp(Required)

Registered Nurse(Required)

Preferred Qualifications: 

Moderate sedation experience

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Recent Interventional Radiology or Procedural care

Nuclear Medicine experience

Oncology nursing experience
