Our Laboratory Medicine and Pathology department has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100%), day shift, CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN 1. At a semi-technical level, perform simple laboratory collection associated with venipunctures and capillary blood collection from patients, testing and/or prepare specimens for laboratory testing and performs other laboratory work which supports the operation of a clinical laboratory. Under general supervision, performs simple and qualitative clinical laboratory tests and/or prepare/setup specimens for laboratory tests and other laboratory work in support of technologists, faculty and students. Primary focus is directed toward pre-analytical handling and processing of patient specimens for diagnostic testing and the collection of blood and samples from patients and the pre-analytical handling and processing of patient specimens for diagnostic testing.  Responsible for receiving processing and distribution of routine and stat specimens for analytical testing. Operates laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, incubators, scales and loads specimens onto automated instrumentation (chemistry and hematology automated lines). Participates in performance improvement activities and supports the hospital in meeting JCAHO CLIA and CAP accreditation standards. Communicate courteously and clearly with hospital and laboratory staff to resolve problems. Adhere to directions from leadership team to include CLT Leads.
