Clinical Lab - Hematology

Job Summary
To perform test procedures in routine hematology, special hematology, routine coagulation, special coagulation, bone marrow/special stain section, gram stain, COVID and urinalysis. Must be able to work in a high volume, automated setting. Transcribes and reports test results, and operates laboratory equipment as needed. Follows established quality control procedures and participates in all associated tasks in the section. The test menu will vary depending on the shift.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- BS or BA with CLS degree
- Able to work and get along with a diverse group of staff members.
- Willingness to contribute to the betterment of the lab.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent experience in clinical laboratory technology, preferably in Hematology.
- Experience in a high volume laboratory, doing clinical laboratory testing.
- Experience with current automation used in the clinical laboratory (preferably Hematology).
- Experience using laboratory information systems and up-to-date computer skills.
License/Certification
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
