Job Description

To provide quality experience-based instruction to Robotics and Communications Systems Engineering Technology students in both classroom and laboratory learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver quality, experience-based instruction and hands-on laboratory activities designed to prepare students for successful entry into the workforce
2. Collaboratively work with program faculty, the Department Chair, and Technical Advisory Committee members to develop and maintain program curriculum
3. Participate in professional development activities to maintain state certification and engage in lifelong learning
4. Collaboratively work with program faculty and administrators to continuously assess and improve the program.  This will include collecting data to assess student outcomes, participating in meetings to discuss and assess the quality of the program, and developing reports for maintenance of ABET accreditation.
5. Actively participate in departmental, college, university, and community professional service opportunities
6. Recruit and advise students
7. Develop and maintain quality relationships with business/industry and other employers

Minimum Qualifications

1. Currently possess or be eligible to obtain a post-secondary Limited Occupational Specialist (LOS) certificate (or higher) from the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education, including meeting one of the following criteria:
a. Hold or have held an approved industry certification in a field closely related to the content area in which the individual seeks to teach as defined by the division of career technical education.
b. Demonstrate a minimum of 6,000 industry hours—50% of which occurred in the past five years—of professional experience in a field closely related to the content area you want to teach; or
c. Hold a baccalaureate degree in a field closely related to the content area in which the individual seeks to teach and demonstrate 2,000 hours—50% of which occurred in the past five years—of professional experience in a field closely related to the content area you want to teach.
2. Associates degree or higher in electronics, robotics, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications

1. At least six years of recent full-time employment in an electronics or robotics related occupation
2. At least three years of teaching/training experience in a professional or educational setting
3. Knowledge of, and experience programming in various languages
4. Knowledge of, and experience with the development of schematics and printed circuit boards
5. Knowledge of, and experience with sensor conditioning, integration, and data acquisition practices


Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 to $65,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
