Position Details

The Department of Nursing in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa has an opening for for a full-time, 9-month renewable, non-tenure track position at the Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor level starting August 2024. This position reports to the College Dean, and the Director/ Chair of Department of Nursing.

This position includes teaching responsibilities in clinical rotations at area healthcare agencies in the BSN program. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have clinical experience in teaching fundamentals, health assessment, medical-surgical, mental health, or community health nursing labs. There is also opportunity to teach didactic classes in the BSN program. Teaching responsibilities consist of twenty-seven (27) credit hours per academic year.

The successful candidate is expected to have a commitment to nursing education. Previous clinical and/or classroom teaching experience with undergraduate BSN students is required. Experience with student evaluation, assessment and mentoring is desired. Faculty have one-day week scheduled for clinical practice if desired.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of MSN Degree required.
  • Current unencumbered RN license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in clinical practice as a registered nurse.
  • Previous experience teaching BSN students in clinical and/or classroom setting required.
  • BCLS certification required.
