Position Description

The Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at the University of Washington School of Medicine leverages the transformative power of family medicine to create more just and equitable healthcare for all through education, scholarship, and clinical care. Come join us as we seek to transform primary care and build an integrative delivery model that puts the patient first and seeks to care for the whole person, family and community.

We are committed to three core tenets: 1) ensuring high quality, rigorous, patient-centered education for students and residents; 2) providing compassionate, high caliber, evidence-based clinical patient care; and 3) maintaining an internationally recognizable research organization focused on increasing the quality, effectiveness, accessibility, and sustainability of primary care. The DFM promotes diversity, health equity and inclusivity. We value the unique talents and contributions of each individual and strive to build a diverse faculty and staff representative of the communities we serve.

The Department of Family Medicine is seeking three (3) positions appointed as Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor - Salaried. These positions will be 80% clinical and 20% administrative/teaching with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2023, or soon thereafter.

Clinical Instructors, Clinical Assistant Professors, Clinical Associate Professors and Clinical Professors - Salaried hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

These positions will have the opportunity to participate in the full spectrum of clinical practice including obstetrics and/or inpatient attending, and outpatient primary care services, according to experience, interest and availability.

Attending on all services includes a teaching component with our residents, fellows and medical students. Research and scholarship are important parts of our department. Collaboration and teamwork are valued by all of our faculty. Other duties could be assigned, based upon Departmental needs.

The base salary range for this position will be: $4,281 - $26,720.17 per month ($51,372 - $320,642 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentives through the UW Physicians practice plan.
