Primary Function of Organizational Unit
It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region.
Job Duties
The Department of Pediatrics at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, has temporary faculty positions for the various sub-specialties of Pediatrics.
Sub-specialties of Pediatrics include: Cardiology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, General Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, Adolescent, and Critical Care.
Faculty positions are available at the titles of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, and Research Professor.
These part-time, temporary faculty positions may have teaching, clinical, research, and administrative duties.

Minimum Education/Experience
Physicians must have an MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina. Board Certified or eligible for board certification.
Research faculty must have a minimum of a master’s degree for the pediatric sub-specialty for which they want to be considered.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Must have the appropriate respective license to work in North Carolina.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
PhD is preferred for Research Faculty.
