Compensation:
Pay Range: $52,555 - $85,400/year or hour

Duties

To function as a knowledgeable practitioner, and as a consultant, educator, and evaluator to maintain and improve system services, and to mentor clinician users to become better technology consumers. To participate in the selection, implementation, and support of clinical systems; ensures maximum use and efficiency of clinical systems; provide direct, hands-on education and support to staff in the use of technology in a manner which promotes patient safety and confidentiality; to consistently strive to improve knowledge and skills in the development of clinical systems and processes; and provide system support to include on-call shifts as needed. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities


1. Acts as a consultant and liaison with clinicians and committees regarding information technology. 
Make recommendations for planning and development of clinical systems that promote efficiency as 
well as technology adoption.
2. Enthusiastically participates on committees. Utilizes good interpersonal and communication skills. 
Participates as a team member on a project throughout its implementation with an understanding of 
workflow and decisions made regarding the project.
3. Educates and supports clinical staff regarding use of information technology in a safe and effective 
manner.
4. Assists with the development and revision of department policies and procedures to address 
changes brought about by the implementation of technology.
5. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors for research and development purposes. 
Attends vendor training as needed. Attends vendor user groups and conferences.
6. Works collaboratively within the Information Technology governance structure to develop 
resolutions to issues in response to user requests or concerns about system functionality. 
Demonstrates basic understanding of system functionality in pursuit of resolution.
7. Builds and/or facilitates completion of minor change requests. Seeks input and guidance as 
required to meet requests. May require assistance when issues arise to address quickly and 
effectively.
8. Assumes on-call duties as needed to provide user support per the established framework. Assists in 
the establishment of a collaborative user support framework which addresses hardware, software, 
and process issues at all times that systems are operational (24/7).
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed in the area of clinical specialty by the State of Alabama.
