Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Idaho seeks applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor in Lighting Design, beginning August 2024. The department welcomes a dedicated professional to play an active role in the collaborative culture of our faculty. A successful candidate will deliver curriculum in lighting design and technology, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Experience delivering curricula via synchronous and asynchronous modalities is required.
Responsibilities:
Teach an equivalency of a 3/4 load; undergraduate courses and possibly one graduate level special topics courses in area of specialization
Undergraduate and Graduate Student mentoring
Design within Departmental production season
Service on Department committees
Assist with departmental recruitment
Applicants who have received their MFA in Theatre in the last three (3) years are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications


Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications
MFA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Lighting Design;
• Experience teaching at the collegiate level;
• Experience with Lighting Design at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Lighting Design at the professional level;
• Experience delivering curricula via synchronous and asynchronous modalities.
