The Clinical Operations Coordinator I, RN supports Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation physicians and clinical staff in the ambulatory setting. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities include working independently and collaboratively with clinical staff, administrators and physicians on day-to-day clinical issues in the office suites including assurance of clinical and regulatory standards and clarification for policies and procedures, standards of practice, quality and proficiency assurance, clinical safety, and other clinical duties as assigned. Good communication skills are critical. The Coordinator will provide support and appropriate direction (within their scope) for patient care activities in accordance with organizational goals and objectives as advised. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with administrative coordination of nursing staff. The individual in this position assists in developing and reviewing ambulatory nursing proficiencies, coordinating ambulatory new hire orientation, providing nursing education as it relates to best practices and/or evidence-based practices.


Primary duties and responsibilities
  • Participates in committees, quality improvement teams and workgroups.
  • Participates and works with key clinical leaders in policy, procedure, and standard development and implementation.
  • Assists in the implementation of new programs through continuing education, staff meetings, training programs and standing committees.
  • Works with Managers, Directors, and applicable partners in developing, implementing, and monitoring proficiency.
  • Serves as a resource to operations managers.
  • Participates in meetings and committees as requested and appointed.
  • Participates in staff recognition.
  • Assists with onboarding of new clinical sites.
  • Serves as a liaison in developing processes that assist the clinics and physicians in providing continuity of care to our patients.
  • Ensures that consistent standards of care are maintained among MAs and LVNs.
  • Serves as a resource for ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements where applicable. This includes - Title 22, OSHA, and DHS standards as necessary.
  • Participates in clinical rounding activities for safety, environment of care, equipment and emergency and disaster plans (as applicable) as they relate to outpatient sites.
  • Understands the scope of practice of the RN, LVN, and MA in Ambulatory Care and assures staff performs duties within their scope of practice

Qualifications -

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Master of Science in Nursing preferred

Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Ambulatory Care Certification preferred (or acquire in 2 years if no current certification)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years working in acute care or ambulatory nursing setting required.
  • Previous demonstrated expertise in supervising nursing staff preferred.
  • Additional education may be substituted for experience.
  • Excellent writing, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to compose documents and reports.
