A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant’s education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.

As a key member of the PCORI Team, the Clinical Data Analyst analyzes data to determine met and unmet outcomes; identifies relevant trends and convey feedback to front-line providers as part of the PCORI Health System Implementation Initiative (HSII) which was created to build project capacity. Works closely with staff Statisticians.

The Analyst administers real-time maintenance of the data infrastructure and tools to ensure uninterrupted services mapping our relevant key performance indicators directly from Temple Health and Temple University data.  The primary focus encompasses the collection, analysis, and interpretation of diverse data that will best optimize implementation strategies and approaches for capacity-building services. The analyst will create dashboards for front-end users in Microsoft Power BI for data visualization.

Responsibilities include:
•    Gather raw data from various internal and external sources to provide a foundation for analysis.
•    Liaise with team members to ensure accurate data collection and storage.
•    Identify, correct, or remove any corrupted, incomplete, or inaccurately entered data.
•    Standardize data formats across different datasets.
•    Conduct basic statistical analyses to understand data trends and patterns.
•    Use statistical tools and software to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.
•    Design and create data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to effectively represent data in charts, graphs, and dashboards.
•    Work with team members to determine the most effective ways to visually represent data insights.
•    Modify and adjust visualizations based on feedback and requirements.
•    Assist in creating regular reports based on collected and analyzed data.
•    Provide support in the interpretation of data reports and visualizations for non-technical team members.
•    Work closely with other departments (like marketing, finance, or operations) to support new Temple Health projects.
•    Participate in team meetings, sharing insights, and findings from data analyses.
•    Ensure databases are accessible, consistent, and secure.  Assist in the maintenance of databases, ensuring that data storage practices are efficient and adhere to best practices.

Quality Assurance:
•    Monitor analytics and metrics results for consistent accuracy. Implement data quality checks and practices to ensure data integrity.
•    Address any issues or discrepancies in data results by troubleshooting and collaborating with relevant teams.
•    Recommend solutions to data-related challenges.
•    Clearly communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  Present data-driven recommendations.      
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in data management, information systems, or a related field and at least one year of directly related healthcare data management experience. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
•    Proficiency in database management software and tools.
•    Knowledge of SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs, including MS Word and advanced MS Excel functions.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse constituent population. 
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment. Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines, and process large amounts of information. Ability to prioritize workloads.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
