Department Summary
The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 43 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels. Five of our degrees are STEM-designated — BS and MS in IS and BBA, MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. We also offer PhDs in Information Systems, Management Science, and Information Assurance. ITDS has a solid track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and, ultimately successful business professionals and academicians.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Summary
The Information Technology & Decision Sciences (ITDS) Department in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas, a Carnegie R1 university, seeks an individual for a clinical faculty position in Information Systems with the ability and experience to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems, Information Security, and/or Digital Strategy and Transformation, make quality intellectual contributions in those or closely related fields independently and with faculty colleagues and/or doctoral students, engage in academic program development, help advance collaboration with industry for research and student placement, advise and mentor students, and render service to the department, college, university, and profession commensurate with their rank.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Information Systems, IT Management, Business Administration or a closely related field or a combination of a doctorate degree from an accredited institution, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or IT management from an AACSB accredited institution; three or more years of teaching, management, engineering and/or consulting experience related to IT development and management; and a track record of scholarly intellectual contributions in Information Systems, Management or a related field.
Associate clinical professor rank requires at least five years of experience as a clinical faculty member or in a tenure track role or equivalent executive leadership experience.
Full Clinical Professor rank requires at least seven years as a clinical faculty member (or in a tenure track role), of which at least three years are in Associate rank or higher, or equivalent executive leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong preference for a Ph.D. in Information Systems or Business Administration, or a closely related field from an AASCB-accredited ( Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) or similarly accredited institution. Strong preference for a proven teacher with experience teaching undergraduate and graduate IS and IT management courses and developing Information Systems curriculum and programs. A proven record of research or other discipline-specific intellectual contributions is also desired, since productivity in this area is part of annual evaluations. A track record developing, expanding, and improving relations with building corporate engagement, placing students, directing academic programs or research centers is a plus.
