Clinical Associate Professor (open rank) in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education
The Department of Special Education, Early Childhood, & Prevention Science at the University of Louisville invites applications for a Clinical Assistant or a Clinical Associate (non-tenure track) Professor position in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education. The Department seeks individuals who have a strong teaching and research background, or the clear potential for one, and whose focus is on the science and practice of research-based instruction for young children.
Department, College, and University
The Department of Special Education, Early Childhood, & Prevention Science currently includes 11 tenure-line faculty members and several clinical and grant-funded personnel. Faculty members are committed to engagement in public school settings and regularly visit classrooms for research, training, and student supervision. The Department currently has approximately $2 million in annual external funding that involves collaborative projects across faculty. The Department houses CIBRS (the Center for Instructional and Behavioral Research in Schools; https://cibrs.com ), the Kentucky Autism Training Center (KATC; http://louisville.edu/education/kyautismtraining ), and the Early Childhood Research Center (https://louisville.edu/education/centers/ecrc ). Additionally, the department is affiliated with the Early Learning Campus (ELC; http://louisville.edu/education/elc ).

Duties and responsibilities associated with this faculty position include but are not limited to:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in IECE programs
- Mentoring non-traditional students at undergraduate or master's levels
- Contributing to department, college, and university governance
- Doctoral degree in early childhood education or a related field*
- Five or more years of experience teaching students in early childhood classroom settings
- Evidence of commitment to the principles of anti-racism, diversity, social justice, and culturally sustaining pedagogies
- Ability to work well with colleagues across departments and in the community
- Interest in participating in collaborative inquiries with colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching college level courses
- Evidence of success incorporating technology into instructional practices
- Demonstrated interest and experience in working in partnership with university centers; education and community settings including Head Start, public prekindergarten, and private preschool programs; government agencies; community groups; businesses; and other key stakeholders
- Current or previous external funding
- Expertise in research methodology conducive to advancing the field of early childhood education
