DUTIES: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a clinically oriented AP/CP, board-certified, surgical pathologist with experience in general pathology and one or more subspecialties including Breast, GYN and GU. The position is at our affiliated hospital, The University of Kansas Health System's Olathe location, which has around 240 beds, with 10,000 surgical pathology cases & 500,000 clinical lab tests a year. This is a full-time appointment on the clinical track in Department of Pathology.
 
The successful candidates should possess strong diagnostic skills with subspecialty training or experience in the specified specialties. In addition to participating in independent diagnostic sign out of 3 to 5 subspecialty areas, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the general surgical pathology frozen section services. The position offers a unique opportunity to have a clinically oriented practice while being affiliated with the University of Kansas Department of Pathology and join a department with over 20 subspecialized pathologists on the main campus. Supervise pathology fellows and residents, and perform translational research.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: M.D. or foreign degree equivalent to a M.D.  Will also accept a D.O. degree. Must be Board certified or eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Possess strong diagnostic skills with subspecialty training or experience in one or more subspecialties, including Breast, GYN and GU. Completion of a Surgical Pathology Fellowship. Hold or be eligible for a Kansas medical license.
