We seek applications for a Clinical Assistant appointment (9-month) to begin Fall 2024. The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to the use of curriculum that is culturally responsive to all students.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include: 1) teaching graduate courses in the EdD in Educational Practice and Innovation with a concentration in STEM Education; 2) teaching undergraduate/graduate mathematics education courses for STEM inclusive programs; 3) engaging in curriculum development and research for STEM inclusive programs; and 4) supporting the service needs of the EdD STEM concentration and other STEM inclusive programs, the Teacher Education department, and the College of Education.
Required Education and Experience
Candidates must have an earned PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics education or a related field. Experience with online teaching/learning delivery platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) with an ability to incorporate innovative pedagogies around school/community-based learning and mathematics education is required. Must have excellent teaching skills, the ability to mentor doctoral students and teacher candidates; evidence of a continued record of professional development and scholarly productivity, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues. Candidates with at least three years of experience working with early adolescents/adolescent and/or teaching at a middle or high school that serves students from underserved and underrepresented communities will be given strong consideration. Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students is desired.
