10-month clinical (non-tenure track) position in Sport Administration

The College of Education and Human Development is seeking candidates for a full-time term faculty position in its Department of Health and Sport Sciences. This position will be at the rank of Lecturer or Clinical Assistant Professor in Sport Administration and is a non-tenure-track, 10-month renewable appointment. The start date for this position is August 1, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

Term (non-tenure) faculty are expected to teach undergraduate Sport Administration courses and/or graduate Sport Administration courses in one or more of the COSMA CPC content areas. These courses will include both on-campus and online delivery. In addition to teaching, faculty are also expected to perform duties in service to the Sport Administration Program, Department of Health and Sport Sciences, and/or College of Education and Human Development. These responsibilities may include the following: student mentoring, program leadership, committee membership, collaboration with community partners, program marketing and communication efforts, and participation in the ongoing development of the program and/or department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Sport Administration, Sport Management, Sport Business, or a related field
  • Prior college/university teaching experience and evidence of ability to teach in one or more of the COSMA CPC areas.
  • Able to work effectively as a team member to support program priorities.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Sport Management or a related field, or a J.D.
  • Teaching expertise in any area related to sport management is desired, but preference will be given to candidates with the interest or ability to teach sport communication, sport promotion and sales, digital development, and technology in sport and/ or sociology of sport.
  • Prior experience in online course instruction and design.
  • At least two years of relevant management or leadership experience in the sport industry.
  • Interest or ability to assist with supporting alumni and student engagement initiatives.
Salary:

Competitive, based upon qualifications and

experience.

Appointment: 10-month renewable contract

Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2024
