Position Summary
The Dwyer College of Health Sciences Division of Clinical Laboratory Science invites applicants for a full-time 10-month non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Medical Laboratory Science. 
 
This full-time position requires delivery of online and on-campus didactic and laboratory instruction in the Medical Laboratory Science Program, mentoring students, participation in interprofessional education activities, and alignment of course content to professional expectations of graduates. Other important expectations include participation in closed loop assessment of curriculum, participation in quality assurance of curriculum and student experiences, and service to the program, college, campus, or community, such as regularly attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on relevant committees. Faculty may also be required to teach evening, weekend, off-site, and/or online courses. 
 
The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science believes that laboratory professionals are an integral member of the healthcare team, providing critical information for the accurate diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of the health of society. The Division is committed to educating healthcare professionals with skills in clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic laboratory operations. The Division focuses on developing authentic and collaborative education experiences that are diverse and inclusive to support interprofessional practice and encourages life-long learning. The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science also recognizes the importance of partnering with regional laboratories for students to gain authentic learning in a clinical laboratory setting.

Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with education (academic or clinical) in several content areas of Medical Laboratory Science, such as clinical chemistry, hematology, blood banking, and immunology 
  • Bachelor’s degree in CLS/MLS/MT or related science discipline
  • Master’s degree
  • ASCP certification (or equivalent) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • Instructor or clinical educator experience

 
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Completed Doctorate 
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-impact teaching practices with a learner-centered focus and inclusive classroom culture 
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse faculty and student populations
