The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track clinical faculty position in Internal Medicine. The faculty member will hold a clinical appointment at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center (PMPMC), at Princeton New Jersey.
The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy is recognized on all levels, local, state, national, and international, as providing one of the most challenging, dynamic, and satisfying Programs of Study leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In concert with supportive faculty and staff, students at the School build a foundation for learning that continues long after graduation.
The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration focuses on the clinical and regulatory aspects of pharmacy practice. The mission of the Department is to participate in the preparation of students to provide pharmaceutical care in its varied practice settings. Graduating students are equipped with the necessary skills to adapt to a changing healthcare environment. Students are also provided with scientific fundamentals, ethics, and attitudes necessary to adapt their careers to changes in healthcare over their lifetime. This mission supports the overall mission of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in four critical areas: teaching, practice, scholarship, and service.
PMPMC is a not-for-profit, 355-bed, regional teaching hospital and is part of Penn Medicine: University of Pennsylvania Health System. In addition to its affiliation with Penn Medicine, PMPMC is affiliated with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  PMPMC averages 17,000 admissions and over 44,000 emergency room visits each year, and offers a wide range of services. PMPMC is a state-designated Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and includes an Eating Disorder Unit, Acute Rehab Facility, and Ambulatory Surgery services. PMPMC has been designated a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2012.  The Pharmacy Department offers PG-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Internal Medicine.
PMPMC currently supports EMSOP clinical faculty members in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry. There are other clinical specialists in antimicrobial stewardship/Transition of Care, Critical Care, and a Clinical Manager. The Internal Medicine faculty member will work alongside the medical faculty attendings and resident physicians to help provide optimal pharmacotherapy management. The faculty member will also be involved in the education of medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, and work with the pharmacy department to develop protocols, manage projects, etc. The Faculty member would have an active role on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee as well as various system/local committees. The faculty will assist two services based in the medical/surgical units and precept pharmacy residents.
 
Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed at least two years of residency training or equivalent experience.  Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

Rutgers University requires all new employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the employee a medical or religious exemption.
