Position Summary
Clinical Assistant Professor
The Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at Indiana University has a full-time academic-year (10-month) non-tenure track faculty position in speech-language pathology available at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position requires a master’s degree or PhD in speech-language pathology, ASHA certification (CCC-SLP), Indiana state licensure in speech-­language pathology, and licensure from the Indiana Department of Education by the date of employment. Clinical expertise with school-age children and two hours of professional development in supervision post-certification are also required. Three years working as a school-based clinician and supervision experience are preferred.
Responsibilities include: clinical supervision of speech-language MA and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) students and provision of direct services at the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), the equivalent of four days/week with one day/week reserved for clinical faculty consultations, team meetings and workload; service to the department, university and IPS community; leadership opportunities (e.g., SLPA program; IPS partnership development); teaching or co-teaching courses at IU as needed during the academic year; and possible clinical supervision or team-teaching in the summers for additional salary. The position is based in Indianapolis. Expected start date is August 1, 2024.
