Position Summary

The School of Health Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University is seeking applicants for a fiscal year (12-month), non-tenure track clinical faculty position with a focus in the area of Medical Laboratory Sciences.

 


Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach select sections of existing undergraduate courses required for students in these programs and develop a minimum of 2 new undergraduate courses for the Biomedical Health Sciences program (pre-med, pre-physician assistant, and others).  This faculty member will also be expected to participate in student recruitment initiatives for the Medical Laboratory Sciences program, assist the program director as needed in managing operational logistics and contribute to scholarly innovation in curricular instruction for these programs within the School of Health Sciences. This is a 12-month appointment with a teaching load in all academic sessions.


Qualifications

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree by the time of employment in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related biomedical health sciences field.  Applicants holding national or equivalent international clinical licensure in medical/clinical laboratory sciences (ex. ASCLS) and minimum of 3 years of clinical experience are preferred. Due to the teaching focus of this position, successful applicants should have a strong background in innovative educational pedagogy.

About the School

Founded in 1979, the School of Health Sciences offers academic programs in Biomedical Health Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Physics, Health Physics, Toxicology, and Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (OEHS). The Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Sciences undergraduate program is the school’s second largest and is one of the largest 3+1 programs across the country.  Its affiliation with NACCLS accredited clinical programs across the Midwest and Mideast aids in supporting both the program and its graduate’s professional success.
