Advertised Job Summary
The Department of Educational and Developmental Sciences at the University of South Carolina seeks applications for a 9-month professional track position in Adapted Physical Education/Physical Education Pedagogy at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor to begin August, 2024.
The successful candidate will be expected to 1) teach in the MS-APE and BSPE programs as well as other PE programs (as needed) with a primary contribution to courses in adapted physical education with secondary contributions to physical education (4/4 load), 2) support supervision needs in the department; and 3) participate in relevant service activities as assigned and selected. Required Education and Experience
We welcome candidates with an earned doctorate in physical education/adapted physical education or related field by the start date of employment and the ability to work cooperatively with diverse colleagues and students.
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with evidence of (1) previous adapted physical education teaching experience, (2) Certified Adapted Physical Educator (CAPE) credential, (3) successful online course delivery, and (4) a record of building diverse and inclusive learning and working environments that promote access, opportunity, and equity.
