Job Summary
The Accounting Area at the Mitch E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business, Purdue University, invites candidates to apply for a full-time clinical assistant professor position. Teaching courses in tax is a priority, although the new hire, when required, will teach courses in other areas, such as management and financial accounting. In addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, the new hire would be expected to engage in leadership activities, such as course development, and advising students. The chosen candidate will also contribute more broadly in some or all of the three ways:
1) Provide services that assist in the administration, operation, and development of the Accounting Area, Daniels School of Business, Purdue, and their profession
2) Engage in activities that help develop and manage relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
3) Produce teaching-oriented scholarly work, such as publishing textbooks or in educational journals, that promotes the academic reputation of the Accounting Area, Daniels School of Business, and Purdue.
The appointment is expected to begin July 1, 2024.
Job Qualification
Candidates must have a PhD or a Masters degree in Accounting or a related field at the time of application. A PhD is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence at the graduate and undergraduate levels. They must have previous experience in course development and student advising. The ideal candidate would have worked a minimum of three years as a full-time instructor or faculty at a university or college that awarded degrees in accounting.
