Organizational Unit Overview | The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC is seeking qualified applicants to join two forensic pathologists in the Eastern Regional Autopsy Center where over 600 medical examiner autopsies and 300 external examinations are completed annually. We also serve as the autopsy service for Vidant Medical Center our associated 900-bed teaching hospital and perform approximately 80-100 medical autopsies each year. |
Job Duties | The primary responsibility will be as a Forensic/Autopsy Pathologist. Job duties include: -Reviewing investigative reports to determine jurisdiction. |
Minimum Education/Experience | MD or DO from accredited school of medicine or osteopathy. North Carolina Medical License is required. Board certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. |
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation | Board certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Candidate is expected to obtain Forensic Pathology Board Certification within one year of hire. North Carolina Medical License is required. |
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education | Knowledge of principles, practices, techniques and advances in the field of Forensic Pathology and medicolegal death investigation. |
