The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is now accepting applications for additional faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level or above with a tenure-track or fixed-term appointment.
The School, located near the Outer Banks of North Carolina, is nationally recognized for its educational excellence and commitment to primary care training, and our teaching hospital serves a 1.3 million rural population catchment area.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center. ECUHMC is the flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Job Duties
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is now accepting applications for additional faculty at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level with a tenure-track or fixed-term appointment.
This position will provide care primarily in the outpatient setting. Outpatient duties will be a mixture of private faculty clinics and teaching and supervising residents who are seeing patients in our outpatient clinic.
Candidates may also spend a few weeks per year providing care on the inpatient academic hospitalist service. On our academic inpatient service, faculty supervise one of our three traditional inpatient Internal Medicine teams or our GIM consult and co-management service.
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program (ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457).  This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System (TSERS). Additionally, this position offers multiple voluntary options for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as various supplemental plans including Critical Illness, Flexible Spending Accounts, Cancer, and Disability.
Minimum Education/Experience
MD, DO or foreign equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
North Carolina Medical License
Must be Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine
