Organizational Unit Overview
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a clinical science department within the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. As the regions only academic OBGYN department, the primary functions of the department are to teach obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professional, provide evidence-based and comprehensive clinical service to the region, and conduct clinical research featuring our rural mission.
Job Duties
Brody School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is currently seeking to fill Full-time Faculty Generalist positions. The positions will include opportunities for active involvement in the teaching of medical students and residents, multidisciplinary teams providing clinical care, and ongoing research.
Fixed Term or Tenure Track position available at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor.
12 month position with anticipated start date of 2.1.24.
Contingent upon availability of funds.
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program (ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457).  This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System (TSERS). Additionally, this position offers multiple voluntary options for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as various supplemental plans including Critical Illness, Flexible Spending Accounts, Cancer, and Disability.
Minimum Education/Experience
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Candidates must be eligible for medical practice in the State of North Carolina by the time of employment.
Candidates must have successful completion of OBGYN residency and be board certified or eligible with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
North Carolina Medical License
Board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
prefer applicants with at least one year clinical experience
