Clinical Assistant Professor/Assessment Director of Physician Assistant Studies

Position Summary:      

Reporting to the Program Director of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies, the Assessment Director works with the Program Director to collect, analyze and evaluate data on all aspects of the program for continuous improvement and accreditation purposes.

Position Responsibilities:

• Collect data on all aspects of the program including, but not limited, to sponsorship, resources, students, operational policies, curriculum, clinical sites, and outcomes
• Critically assess all aspects of the program to identify strengths and weaknesses
• Develop plans for corrective intervention, measurement and continued evaluation
• Prepare a variety of reports including, but not limited to, PA Program Self-Study and Annual Program Outcomes Assessment reports
• Teach up to 3 credits per academic year
• Assess and evaluate student learning
• Collaborate with members of the Katz School’s PA faculty and the University faculty
• Advise PA students
• Participate in student recruitment events and retention initiatives
• Participate in ARC-PA accreditation related projects

Experience & Educational Background:

If a Physician Assistant, a Masters degree is required, as well as:

• Current PA national certification (candidate is required to maintain certification throughout employment)
• Eligibility for licensure in NYS
• Minimum of two years clinical experience
• Higher education teaching experience preferred
• Experience as clinical preceptor preferred

If a Physician, current eligibility or unrestricted license as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in NYS is required, as well as:

• Certification by an ABMS or AOA approved specialty board
• Minimum of three years clinical experience
• Experience as a clinical preceptor preferred

If a Pharmacist, a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required, as well as:

• Residency, fellowship and/or equivalent experience
• Teaching experience at the graduate level in pharmaceutical science

If a non-clinician, a Master of Science degree is required, as well as:

• Minimum of five years of experience in health science education
• Strong organizational and computer skills
•  Experience in PA program Self-Assessment preferred
