Position Summary:      

The Katz School at Yeshiva University  at Yeshiva University seeks a full-time clinical assistant or associate professor specializing in math education and developmental math. This position has a unique opportunity to develop innovative methods of teaching by collaborating with faculty from other disciplines to integrate math-across-the-curriculum. We are committed to supporting faculty with professional development, training, curriculum development initiatives and mathematics education research.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach freshman and sophomore-level mathematics and quantitative courses. Math courses may include: business algebra, business calculus and optimization, statistics, information systems, data science, and related courses.
  • Opportunities to teach at the graduate level based on areas of expertise and experience.
  • Provide on-campus academic advisement to an assigned cohort of students.
  • Monitor student progress and meet regularly with program team regarding student support, academic, and development needs.
  • Participate in student support and student life initiatives to develop the whole student.
  • Participate in student recruitment efforts and program events.
  • Coordinate with baccalaureate programs on curriculum alignment.
  • Engage in professional development activities including the opportunity to publish on mathematics education.
  • Contribute to the development of the Katz School through research, committee participation, and community initiatives.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • PhD in relevant discipline required; Master’s degree with significant experience teaching developmental math will be considered.
  • Experience using evidence-driven pedagogies and instructional practices for math education.

Skills & Competencies:

  • High energy level, enthusiasm, and interest in helping and supporting students and colleagues.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills.

Salary Range:

  • $60,000 - $180,000
