OU   Health Physicians Tulsa seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager for the OU South Memorial Practice. The clinic serves patients across the lifespan in the primary care clinic and serves as a women's health practice. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, be a team-player who uses a collaborative and strategic approach to solve problems, has experience in LEAN, or other quality improvement methods and has demonstrated strong people skills. The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the clinic while promoting the overall organizational goals. The incumbent will participate in the development of organizational processes and procedures and is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of these to ensure the practice is operating within expectations and performance goals are met or exceeded.

 

Representative Responsibilities:

  • Personnel Supervision.   Supervises nurses and clinical support staff. Coordinates and supervises the activities of nursing services and other personnel. Hires, trains, conducts performance appraisals, disciplines, and terminates employees. Coordinates time reports and leave requests. Ensures staff is well equipped to perform their duties.  

  • Scheduling.   Plans and implements personnel schedules. May plan schedules for other personnel, students, volunteers, etc.

  • Nursing.  Works as a Staff Registered Nurse when needed.  

  • Invoicing.   Processes invoices for payment for items received by the clinic. Requires verification that services/goods have been provided/received.

  • Liaison.   Facilitates site reviews with outside reviewers. Serves as initial contact with outside providers and/or outside contractors.

  • Complaint Management.   Assists in resolving patient complaints.

  • Policy Adherence.   Observes nursing care to ensure adherence to policy, and to ensure physicians’ orders are strictly followed. Enhances adherence to clinical, project, program, or departmental policies and procedures.  

  • Meeting Attendance.   Attends meetings and conferences. Conducts regular staff meetings. May make presentations to committees, staff, etc.

  • Patient Services Advocacy.   Acts as a liaison and advocate for patient services or project participants.  

  • Collaboration.   Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide efficient quality patient care.

  • As Needed.   Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

 

 

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

 

Experience:

48 months professional experience as a nurse

 

Equivalent/ Substitution:

Will accept an Associate’s degree in Nursing and 72 months professional experience as a nurse

Will accept a master’s degree in Nursing and 24 months professional as a nurse

 

Certification/ Licensure:

State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse license/certification. 

BLS and/or CPR certification(s).

 

Travel:

Will be required to travel to the main campus for weekly/monthly meetings; as needed.

 

Preferences:

12 months or more supervisory experience in a Nurse capacity.

 


Physical Requirements:
Outpatient clinical environment and exposure. The essential functions of this position will involve mobility (walking; being able to stand for long periods of time during patient exams/procedures, etc.) and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
