Clerkship Coordinator

  Creighton University is seeking to hire a full time Clerkship Coordinator.

 

The Clerkship Coordinator position is part of the Office of Medical Education (OME) curriculum team, which is responsible for supporting, implementing, and executing the medical education (MD degree) program.  The Clerkship Coordinator position is responsible for collaborating with the appropriate Clerkship Director and Course Director(s) to manage the curriculum for third-year clerkships and fourth-year electives within the clerkship phase of the medical education program.

Responsible for coordinating the medical student rotations for the clerkships and serves as the primary resource for medical students for the department in which the students are assigned.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director and M3/M4 Component Director to ensure all clerkship educational objectives and standards are achieved.
  • Serve as liaison between the Director/Department Chair and the medical students, and between faculty and students on a wide range of academic, administrative, and or personal issues.
  • Monitor student progress through the rotation to ensure that all graduation requirements are being met and initiate remedial action when necessary to maintain academic standards.
  • Coordinates, administers, proctors and grades regularly scheduled student clinical examinations.
  • Develops, prepares, and distributes curriculum information and associated materials to faculty and students rotating through the clerkship.
  • Responds to student inquiries regarding curriculum and other requirements.
  • Advises students on curriculum, electives, and testing.
  • Maintains school databases and systems to gather and analyze statistical information.
  • Prepares reports on student progress and department educational outcomes.
  • Manages clerkship budget.
  • Assist faculty, residents, and students with log-in problems.
  • Provides access and instructions for new faculty and residents.
  • Enter faculty and resident information to generate performance evaluations.
  • Monitor compliance of faculty and resident completion of evaluations; provide regular compliance reports to Director. 
  • Prepares and distributes lecture evaluations and compiles results for physicians.
  • Maintains records and prepares timely grade reports for third year medical students in accordance with School guidelines.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required, will consider relevant experience in leu of education.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience withing a healthcare, academic or office setting preferred.   
  • Knowledge of Office 365 Suite, specifically Word, Excel, SharePoint, and/or similar applications
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so that others will understand
