Professionals receiving a doctoral degree in psychology should be capable of extending psychological knowledge and exhibiting the high level of analytic skills and theoretical understanding needed to use existing and emerging psychological knowledge.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clerical Assistant for the Center for Adult Autism Services department within the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides direct service to CSP students, fulfilling case management duties related to their students, advocating for CSP students (as necessary) by interfacing with campus partners (i.e. professors, advisers, Office of Disabilities Services (ODS), CAPS, Academic Coaches, tutors, Peer Mentors, etc.), consulting with off-campus invested stakeholders in student well-being (i.e. parents, mental health providers, etc.)

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, or related experience depending on the duties to be performed.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or above.
  • Two years of office work experience.
  • Working with people on the autism spectrum.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Office and service provision experience.
  • Strong computer and phone skills (database creation and management) and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple populations and problem-solve.
  • Ability to be flexible when necessary.

  • Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, survey software.
