Event Manager

Juniper Summer Institute

Announcing an opportunity to become a part of the team that runs two national summer creative programs; one for adults (Juniper Summer Writing Institute) and one for high school students (Juniper Institute for Young Writers) on the UMass Amherst campus. Join a collaborative administrative team with a 15 year history of providing excellent creative programming with a community focus.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Coordinate production of the Juniper Summer Writing Institute & Juniper Institute for Young Writers programs/conferences on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus for June and July 2019.

  • Manage advertising and publicity campaigns
  • Oversee application and admission processes
  • Facilitate communications with participants, faculty, and guest writers
  • Handle event scheduling and logistical preparations
  • Manage website re-design and social media

  • Requirements:

    Minimum Entrance Requirements :

  • Two years experience in administrative work
  • Experience with event management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Google Drive, Office Suite, word processing
  • Proficient in the use of social media platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with diverse groups of people
  • Preferred :

  • Basic webdesign (WordPress and Drupal)

  • Additional Information:

    $15.00/HR                                                                            TEMPORARY PART-TIME

    Monday-Friday (20 hr/wk) Flexible hours between 9am-5pm
