Position Summary

The Office of Health Science (OHS) Educational Technology team is seeking a Classroom Support Professional to assist in technology support of the health colleges’ (Human Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, and Nursing) classrooms and computer laboratories. The primary role of the team is ‘at-the-elbow’ support for in-session classes when classroom technology is involved. Adaptability is a key component of the position, as a timely response is vital to educational continuity in the event of a technology failure. The Classroom Support Professionals report to the Supervisor of Educational Technology and are charged with providing user support for scheduled curricular and administrative events, as well as on an ad hoc basis as needed. Educational Technology staff may also provide computer and laptop support. This position works with OHS stakeholders to design, purchase, configure, and distribute IT assets to meet business objectives throughout the health colleges.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational or business school such as an Associate’s Degree; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Desired Qualifications

Experience with:

  • Troubleshooting AV tech for premium quality educational value
  • At-the-elbow customer service
  • Live event organization and planning
  • Asset management and IT Service Desk and Team-Dynamix ticket systems
  • Live production recording
  • Video conferencing systems (e.g. Polycom) and applications (e.g. Zoom)

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Certifications:

  • ITIL Foundations
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist
