Position Summary Information


General Information
The College of Integrated Science and Engineering (CISE) is looking for a photographer to capture images (both on and off campus) that represent and promote CISE programs, experiences, and events to generate excitement for prospective students, the community, and outside organizations.
Approximately 7-10 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Some evenings and weekends will be required to cover events.
*This employment opportunity may be compatible with the internship expectations of the SMAD Program.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is passionate about photography and wants to gain hands-on experience while in school. The position offers flexible hours, a chance to work on exciting projects, and the opportunity to build a professional portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Create stylized visuals and compelling stories that represent the CISE community and convey the JMU brand
· Cover all aspects of each assigned session/event to ensure the experience of the event is captured through photography
· Edit and upload photos promptly using Adobe Photoshop or similar to enhance the visual impact of the images – ensuring the final product is high-quality.
· Assign relevant keywords and tags to image metadata – including titles and descriptions.
· Brainstorm new ideas for photography content
· Manage and maintain equipment – ensuring it is in working order and properly stored.
Qualifications
· Strong photography skills – experience with composition and proper exposure
· Creativity and originality
· Enthusiasm for science, technology, and engineering
· Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Self-starter with a strong work ethic, excellent communication and interpersonal skills- including the ability to work independently and collaboratively
· Proficient in Adobe or other photo editing software
Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
