Job Summary

The Center for Integrated Professional Development (CIPD) seeks a graduate-level student to help provide support to faculty using the university’s learning management system (LMS) and associated technologies. This will primarily include direct support to faculty, and preparation of support materials. This position is for the summer semester only.


Additional Information

The majority of the student’s primary duties are in support of instruction including but not limited to the responsibilities below:
1. Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory
2. Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks
3. Grade student assignments which require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory
4. Meet with and/or tutor students, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or lab, etc.


Pay Rate

$16.28/hour


Required Qualifications

1. Must be a degree-seeking student at Illinois State University.
2. For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
3. Interest in, and relevant experience with, instructional technology.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. High level of professionalism.
6. Detail-oriented.
7. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
8. Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications

1. Strong editing and proofreading skills.
2. Interest in and experience with online and/or blended education.
3. Experience working with or training faculty and/or administrators
4. Teaching experience
5. Research skills and experience.
6. Ability to edit video.
7. Experience with Adobe or other multimedia development software.


Work Hours

To be arranged between the center and the student somewhere between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
