SUMMARY:

The College of Innovation and Design (CID) Associate Program Director, under general direction, assists with operations and administration, and maintains responsibility for the CID Student Support Services unit functions and supervises all CID Student Support Services staff.  CID Student Support Services provides assistance for students from inquiry through graduation including services such as recruitment, application and enrollment, academic advising, financial aid and scholarship advising, etc.  The CID Associate Program Director leads CID Student Support Services as a fully functioning, separate university unit but serves as a liaison for successful integration of CID policies and procedures concurrent with the respective main campus offices.  CID Student Support Services staff report to the CID Associate Program Director who reports to the CID Assistant Dean.  The CID Student Support Services unit and all staff are headquartered at and work during normal business hours, in person, at the Dallas campus.

This position is headquartered at the A&M-Commerce at Dallas campus and is not eligible for remote work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a member of the CID leadership team.
  • Primary assignment is the overall program management of the policies, procedures, and staff for CID Student Support Services.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans and lead strategic plans for assigned unit(s).
  • Assist in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Assist to establish performance goals and metrics to evaluate the success of areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee State and Federal reporting for assigned unit(s).
  • Develop reports, analyses and surveys.
  • Facilitate relationships with internal and external clients, customers, and other interest groups.
  • May assist the CID Budget Manager with preparation and oversight of annual budgeting and expense control of assigned unit(s).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills:  Eight years of related experience including higher education enrollment management.  Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.  Knowledge of management development programs and implementation, budget oversight, and strategic planning.  Experience supervising staff.
  • Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Effective analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Other Requirements: Position is headquartered at the A&M-Commerce at Dallas campus; occasional travel to other A&M-Commerce campus locations will be required.  Work may be required beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

Customer Service training or certification.  Leadership training or certification.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

This position supervises all College of Innovation and Design Student Support Services personnel including but not limited to Academic Advising Specialists, Financial Aid Advisors, the Enrollment Management Team, Onboarding Specialists, Processors, Task Workers, Graduate Assistants, and Student Workers.
