Position:

The College of Health Professions invites applications for a 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science beginning August 2024.

Qualifications:

Earned clinical doctoral degree or demonstrable progress toward degree with defined completion plan. Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland; minimum of three years of full-time clinical practice as an occupational therapist; experience in clinical instruction (e.g., student supervision) and/or academic teaching; a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and commitment to ongoing clinical currency. Evidence of strong clinical practice background with preference for recent mental/behavioral health experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated awareness and clear articulation of strategies to foster an inclusive learning environment. Commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. Salary is commensurate with experience and rank.

 

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include 1) Teaching: Facilitate classroom and applied learning experiences for diverse graduate professional students in occupational therapy and occupational science, advise and mentor students, and direct student research at the doctoral level. 2) Scholarship: Participation and presentation of knowledge base through conferences, outside lectures and / or publications. 3) Service: Participate in active service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
