The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences  of McGovern Medical School  at UTHealth Houston is seeking qualified candidates to join our excellent faculty team. This is a great opportunity to join a state-of-the-art Behavioral Sciences Campus with 2 psychiatric hospitals serving 500 beds total, and 29 clinics throughout the Houston metropolitan area.  Located in the heart of the largest medical center in the nation, we have a vigorous research enterprise and multiple educational programs, including a large residency program, child and adolescent fellowship, psychology internship, and more.  Our robust collegial atmosphere fosters collaboration and teamwork! The position would assist in providing exceptional teaching and supervisory opportunities to residents and medical students as a key training site for the McGovern Medical School, and soon to our NEW School of Behavioral Health Sciences, opening in the fall of 2025.

Inpatient Psychiatry- Child and Adolescent

We seek to recruit a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a full-time inpatient faculty position at Memorial Hermann Hospital- Texas Medical Center.

The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences will serve as an inpatient attending and clinical faculty for the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, with assignment to Memorial Hermann Hospital- Texas Medical Center.  The selected candidate will provide direct patient care, teaching, and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows at Memorial Hermann Hospital- Texas Medical Center and will be expected to contribute to the Department’s mission of education, research, and patient care.

Qualifications:

§  M.D. or equivalent degree.

§  Licensed or license eligible in the State of Texas.

§  Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry.

§  Experience or interest in research and/or education is preferred.

Depending upon the applicant’s qualifications and credentials, faculty appointments at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor will be offered.
