The Chief of Campus Police serves as the chief administrator of the Campus Police Department and is responsible for the development, control, personnel and supervision, and program implementation of the department.

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, or equivalent, or combination of training, education and experience that would demonstrate equivalent knowledge.
Police Officer certification. Eight years experience with a Public Safety agency or equivalent, including two years as a ranking officer. Thorough knowledge of laws and ordinances pertaining to security, safety, or law enforcement, and law enforcement methods and procedures. Ability to use firearms, radio transmitters and receivers, radar equipment, computers and vehicles. Resourcefulness, tact and skill in dealing with staff, faculty, students and the general public Supervisory skills. Annual qualification with a minimum score of 70% in the Police Combat Practical Pistol Course based upon the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Nation Rifle Association standards for police firearms instructors. Good physical condition, strength, and agility as evidenced by physical exam. No criminal record other than minor motor vehicle violations. Valid driver’s license. Deputation by the municipal authority having jurisdiction. In addition, public safety work experience in a college/university setting is preferred.
