Position Summary:

As a Charge Nurse in our Med Surg/Tele Unit, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in the Med Surg/Tele setting.  You’ll provide oversight of unit operations on the assigned shift.  Address problems, concerns and/or unanticipated events in a manner that optimizes the smooth functioning of the unit.  Serve as a role model and preceptor to unit staff.  In fulfilling all responsibilities, consider not only the unit perspective but also a broader organizational perspective.  Prepare monthly work schedules, make daily patient assignments, schedule breaks and meal periods.  Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.

Educational Requirements:

Associate's Degree in Nursing, Minimum

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Preferred

License/Certifications:

Valid CA Nursing License

BLS and ACLS required through the American Heart Association

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year Med Surg/Tele experience, required

Prior experience as a Charge RN or Relief Charge, required
