Title- Pharmacy Technician

Hours - Part Time - As needed

Shift - 1st/2nd - every 3rd weekend

Primary Purpose:


Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.  They do not perform duties that can legally be performed by only a registered pharmacist.  A Pharmacy Technician II demonstrates a high level of initiative and motivation along with certification and competency in specialized area(s) of the department.
 



Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills
Education: Recently certified, licensed or graduate within past 12 months, minimum required. Three to five years equivalent experience, minimum required.

 

License and Certification: Current pharmacy technician registration and certification that is recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is required.
Years of Experience: Three - five years equivalent experience, minimum required.

 

Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities and solve problems; respond quickly to emergency requests; communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization.
