Certified Athletic Trainer - Football

The University of Missouri Football Program is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer who will be responsible for the administration of injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and care encountered by student-athletes in competitive athletics.

In doing so, the ATC will be responsible for the following:

Collecting all medical paperwork including assisting with pre-participation examinations.
Performing baseline testing including corrective exercise screenings/programs, movement profiles, as well as development of individual protocols and/or maintenance programs for injury prevention or movement deficiencies.
Coordinating medical care for all in-season and official team practices and workouts including home and away contests.
Staying on top of all medical maintenance needs and EAP’s for home and away contests including with prior communication to other team’s ATC’s.
Acting as liaison to the team physicians or other medical providers to ensure proper care is received.
Following all prescribed rehabilitation and treatment protocols of team physicians.
Performing all treatments, rehabilitations, taping/bracing, and/or casting as needed.
Properly documenting all injuries/illnesses including mental health into EMR platform.
Assisting with medical coverage of other teams as needed/assigned.

Daily organization in providing the following to student athletes and their respective coaching staffs:

Prepare timely and accurate documents, e.g., injury/illness reports, care and reconditioning updates, daily athletic training records, injury/illness and communicate summaries for coaches (including Strength & Conditioning Coach), medical and other correspondences.
Communicating effectively with strength and conditioning coaches regarding the injured student-athletes strength and conditioning parameters and limitations associated with injury rehabilitation.
Consulting with the coaching staff on conditioning programs, safety of proper athletic activities, equipment safety, and safety of facilities and grounds at competitive venues.

Assume responsibilities for day-to-day operation of the Athletic Training Room outside of student athlete care:  

Participate weekly in the mentorship program with your assigned AT.
Provide supervision, instruction, delegation, evaluation, and assistance with the student athletic trainer education program, clinical immersion program, and federal work study program.
Aid in the advancement of the athletic training facility including maintenance and upkeep of your assigned facility.
Aid in the advancement of your assigned facilities including maintenance, upkeep, inventory and ordering
Perform other duties as assigned or pro-actively added by the Director, Senior Associate Director, and/ or Associate Director of Sports Medicine.

Assume the following professional duties to maintain all requirements to be considered in good standing as a professional and working towards growth opportunities as a clinician:

Maintain BOC certification and MO licensure with accumulation of CEU’s.
Maintain medical malpractice liability insurance.
Collaborate with other staff members to help develop in the areas of rehab, treatment, movement profiles, and readiness score/testing.
Participate in opportunities that in help with research collaboration.
