Job Summary:

The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) provides high-quality support to physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in meeting the operational needs of the practice and the medical needs of the patient.  The ATC assesses, evaluates, plans, implements, monitors, and documents patient care in a manner according to ATC scope and standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians.
  • Acts as a liaison between physician and patient.
  • Assists with scheduling, completes patient forms, and enters orders/referrals per physician standing order.
  • Obtains all special study reports and physical therapy progress reports before physician visits; as needed, scan reports into Epic.
  • As prescribed by the physician, selects, fabricates, and/or customizes prophylactic, assistive, and restrictive devices, such as casting, bracing, and splinting materials.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Broomfield/Longmont.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in an orthopedic ambulatory setting providing direct patient care.
  • Experience working in conjunction with orthopedic/sports medicine physicians.
  • EPIC, Kronos, and HealthStream experience.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Certification by The Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
  • Licensure with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $50,000 to $58,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
