Overview of Part Time Clinic Director

Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Part Time Clinic Director for the Community Counseling Center.  The Clinic Director will provide leadership, supervision, and community collaboration for Purdue Northwest’s Mental Health Counseling training clinic. This grant-funded position will involve providing supervision to candidates providing individual and group counseling in the Community Counseling Center, as well as fulfilling clinical responsibilities such as development of programming and maintenance of electronic healthcare records in partnership with the Clinic Manager.  Grant funding for this position is secured through Fall 2025. This is a non-teaching position.
 

Pay:  $28.25/hour 


Duties and Responsibilities of Clinic Director
  • Provide individual and/or triadic supervision with graduate candidates completing Practicum or Internship requirements in the Community Counseling Center
  • Clinic responsibilities include final approval of potential clients ensuring clinic is able to provide necessary care, recommend referrals, auditing filing systems to ensure appropriate documents are kept and confidentiality is maintained, managing electronic healthcare records, and verifying professional ethics and legal standards are met
  • Develop partnerships between Community Counseling Center and university or community organizations to meet needs and provide diverse development opportunities to interns, research new avenues for providing counseling programs in community schools, utilize resources and networking to determine additional opportunities for the clinic to provide services to university employees while collaborating with existing organizations

Education of Clinic Director
  • Graduate degree in counseling psychology, counseling education, or related field at time of appointment;
  • PhD or equivalent degree preferred

Experience of Clinic Director
  • 2 years of experience in clinical supervisory role and desire to develop practical, ethical, and advocacy skills of counselors-in-training
  • Prior experience with development and implementation of community programming preferred
