Casual Staff - Mashgiach

Position Summary:       

The Food Services department seeks a Mashgiach who will ensure compliance with Kashruth laws.

This is a part-time position up to 19 hours per week. Food Services is typically open from Sunday - Thursday from 6:30AM - 9:00PM and Friday 6:30AM - 2:00pm, and are looking for individuals to work various shifts during these hours.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all deliveries coming in to ensure proper kosher certification
  • Be proficient at checking lettuce and other products that require checking
  • Turn on all heating equipment
  • Ensure that employees perform work duties in keeping with kosher laws
  • Monitoring of the cafeteria during service, ensuring no outside food is brought into the cafeteria
  • Assist managers with various tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Experience & Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma and 6 months to 1 year of related experience is required.
  • Must be well-versed in the Kashruth laws and be approved by the Orthodox Union.
  • Prior experience with kosher certification and standards

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good organization skills. Must be able to handle food according to established sanitary guidelines
  • Speaks to clients and colleagues in a respectful and thoughtful manner
  • Provides excellent customer service

Salary Range:

$25-$28 per hour
