Casual Staff - Director, Zwas Family Rabbinic Program

Position Summary:       

The Director oversees RIETS's various internship and mentorship programs and serves as a bridge between students and the Rabbinic Placement office.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create a one-on-one mentorship program at RIETS where students would work directly with RIETS staff to create polished lectures and sermons to be delivered at the internship synagogue
  • Oversee the Stone Rabbinic Internship program. Will work directly with synagogues and students to ensure students are given excellent opportunities to intern in synagogues and gain "real-world" experience
  • Serve as a bridge for students between them and the Rabbinic Placement Office. The Rabbinic Placement Office assists students who are seeking full-time employment

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Rabbinic Ordination, preferably from RIETS
  • 5+ years as a pulpit rabbi
  • Knowledge of the YU and Orthodox Jewish Communities
  • 5+ years providing counseling and mentorship to synagogue members

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple student placements at one time
  • Ability to organize and make student information accessible
  • Relationships with synagogue rabbis
