Friends University is seeking to fill the Cashier position in Wichita Kansas. This position manages the cash receipting function of the University. Receives tuition payments made by cash, check, and credit card in person, by mail, and telephone. Receives deposits made by other departments. Administers Petty Cash funds, counts and reconciles cash drawer daily as well as petty cash box and keep accurate count of safe. Verifies and reconciles cash bags and deposit forms from various campus departments. Prepares daily deposits, cashes checks, and provides change to students, faculty, and staff. This position will also provide clerical support for the Office of Admissions Processing assisting with data entry, scanning, filing, admit letters, and other related tasks. Work hours are 8 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday.

Skills & Requirements

Six months’ experience in a similar position is required.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication and organizational skills are necessary.  Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required.

Proficiency in word processing and database experience required (Microsoft Office preferred).
