CPM has full-time job opportunities for Case Initiation Specialists to provide services that establish child support cases. If you like to conduct detailed research using a variety of online data sources, to locate and verify/clarify information, this is the job for you. You will receive in-service training, coaching and mentoring, while provided instructions in the performance of duties related to child support laws, regulations and a broad range of activities to establish cases. You are provided a cubicle workspace with daytime hours when onsite, including weekends off and most state holidays with optional flexible work from home hours once you meet established productivity and quality goals.

The primary role is creating electronic records used to establish and enforce child support cases. Within legal requirements and departmental policies and procedures, specialists operate with limited to considerable independence and must exercise discretion and judgment in creating cases. You will develop and analyze information for the establishment of paternity. As part of a team you will receive coaching and mentoring from multiple sources including peers, trainers, and supervisors to ensure program deliverables and accountabilities are fulfilled. The ability to conform to specific guidelines and timetables is required to ensure the needs of all customers are met.

Specific Tasks (including but not limited to):

  • Coordinates and applies program guidelines to project delivery.
  • Researches, retrieves, and analyzes information.
  • Performs research functions, analyze data, and provide customer service and support.
  • Identifies discrepancies and resolve problems.
  • Establishes and maintains professional internal and external relationships.
  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains detailed records and reports to measure project activities.
  • Applies state, and local codes, procedures, and rules in establishing and processing cases.
  • Performs initial review, data collection and verification of child support information from electronic state assistance applications or direct written applications in building or reopening of child support cases
  • Conducts thorough, detailed and organized research using various search engines to complete the established processes within the federally mandated time frames
  • Documents and updates all findings in the appropriate system and in the center's databases
  • Performs related duties as assigned 

The Program Specialist focuses on our customer's need for child support services, collaborates with others, solves problems creatively, and demonstrates high integrity while meeting established policy and procedures; you must be able to maintain effective professional team relationships in both a virtual and live environment, meeting our department's core values; We provide future opportunities for advancement along the way.

This position requires a background check that involves a national search and fingerprint search to be eligible for employment. Results of the completed background check will be provided to the funding sponsor for their records.

This position may be eligible for remote or hybrid work.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, AND: 

  • 18 months experience in data analysis, project coordination, or related experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to research information to obtain an answer or solution to a problem in a timely manner

  • Ability to sit and talk for prolonged periods. Hand and finger dexterity. Engage in repetitive motion of he wrist, hand, and fingers.  Standard Office Environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Legal research and customer service experience
