Job Summary
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s Office of Career Development and Corporate Relations (CDCR) seeks candidates for a Career Services Specialist.
This role will prepare career development content materials and resources that expand the reach of the CDCR increasing student access to formative career development approaches and embedding them in the student experience. This role will further support CDCR programs and services for students, alumni, faculty, and employers by maintaining contact with identified audiences, designing and disseminating reports and data visualizations, promoting events and services, and providing event support for career fairs, industry days, and college-wide programs.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares career development content for presentation in multiple formats including workshops, classes, career fairs & industry events, newsletters, social media and other digital platforms.
  • Creates career development workbooks, guides, and other resources supporting the Career Coaching and Programs, Corporate Relations, and Career Development Content and Strategy initiatives.
  • Assists with promotion of CDCR events using Handshake, social media, print and digital signage, and other resources within the college and academic departments.
  • Maintains contact with students, alumni, faculty/ staff, and employer contacts using identified career services platforms such as Handshake and Salesforce. Serves as a liaison to the Engineering Office of Communication and Marketing.
  • Collects data from team stakeholders regarding student experience, first destination outcomes, and activities/outcomes of CDCR office including student, faculty/staff, and employer engagement.
  • Assembles, designs, and prepares reports of CDCR college and departmental career outcome information. Tools to successfully manage this process include Handshake, Adobe creative products, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Participates in setting and implementing strategic objectives for the Career Development Content and Strategy team and the CDCR office. Maintains membership and engagement in appropriate professional development associations.
  • Provides event support for team-wide events such as career fairs, industry days, employer summits, and college-wide recruiting events that request CDCR representation.
  • Maintains records of budget and spending for CDCR swag and promotional item orders. Coordinates requests for promotional items biannually.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field with no experience.
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field plus 2 years experience.
Level III: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field plus 4 years experience.
Master’s degree may be required for positions which require teaching.
Focus of Experience: Experience in coordinating and/or providing career services and/or programs 
Substitutions allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Minimum Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail and leadership skills. Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent computer skills, well-developed organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Customer-service focus.
