The Career Services Director will be responsible for carrying out the strategic vision for the Career Services Department to include service to students, business development and relationship management with other department leaders.. Daily student and graduate support activities will be an integral part of this position, combined with Business Development with the local business community.

Essential Position Responsibilities/Functions

Demonstrate solid relationship management/business development skills by actively engaging the local business community in an effort to initiate and cultivate employer relationships to locate job placement leads, identify future staffing needs and identify opportunities for employer partnership with Bryant & Stratton College. Participate in community events and professional associations, promoting the College to area employers and influencers in an effort to secure workforce solutions contracts with the local business community.

Conduct internal relationship management to influence the quality of graduate.  Critique, question, recommend solutions, and monitor results of various processes, practices, and methodologies, inside and outside the classroom, which impact the development of students' skills. Possess an ability to manage to the goals of the organization by emulating an ability to set standards, establish priorities and effectively utilize resources. Provide resource and training to enable students to obtain jobs in their field of study at salaries that meet or exceed fair market value and the established vision.

Embrace and embody the College’s commitment to relationship management by developing and managing solid relationships with current students and graduates that includes providing counseling and instruction in interviewing, resume preparation, job application, pre-interview preparation and job acceptance negotiation that matches applicant’s objectives.  Monitor the integration of Career Services into student’s educational experience.  Coach/advise students in developing personal marketing strategies to secure a job and negotiate a fair compensation package. Work actively with a selection of program-specific graduates to achieve campus employment and salary goals.

Manage the activities of the Career Services in the delivery of innovative and quality focused services and programs.  Possess an ability to manage to the goals of the organization by emulating an ability to set standards, establish priorities and effectively utilize resources.  Demonstrate strong leadership abilities that impact the overall institutional outcomes of the College.

Work with other campus managers towards achieving campus-wide goals and objectives; participate in appropriate campus committees and taskforces.  Ensure compliance with company policy as well as state and federal regulations.

Daily use of Microsoft Excel for graduate outcomes tracking. Daily use of CRM system to track graduate and employer information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • Sales and management skills required 3-5 years preferred), including management of staff; educational setting preferred
  • Demonstrated strength in the areas of emotional intelligence, goal management, strategic alignment, coaching, leadership, relationship building and business development
  • Strong computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Salary:

$60,000 - $65,000 per year

The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
